  • We spent 5 days at Seadust, by far is more than we expected after reading several reviews. You have to be there to confirm how great is the service over all.... Crew, food, entertainment, service, amenities and more... Our children 15, 5 and 3 enjoyed every single day! Us as a busy parents of three, had an incredible adult time as well. Best wishes on their new projects, looking forward to visit this resort in the near future!

  • "Perfect for an all-inclusive family vacation without paying cruise prices"

My family of four (kids 4 and 6) were looking for a fun vacation and after looking at prices for cruises, I came across a package deal that included air and ground transport that could not be beat. If you are looking for the Four Seasons, you are in the wrong place. Enjoy the resort for what it is, a budget-friendly all inclusive resort in Cancun. You will find faults, but your kids will have a blast like mine did and that will make up for that. The resort itself is designed like a cruise ship, where the rooms are along the sides, the restaurants line the bottom floors, and the three level pool is along the back against the ocean. As some reviewers have said the resort guests were about 75% Mexican, which considering this is a budget-friendly resort in Mexico makes perfect sense. People were friendly, but they sure liked cutting in front of you to get on the elevator. I will give pros and cons and then review the food separate. Pros - The pools were large and did not feel overcrowded. The main pool is actually three pools with two infinity edges separating them. The middle pool was used for watersports like volleyball, water aerobics, and water polo. Equipment was provided during the scheduled activities. There is another pool to the right of these with a water feature, I believe this is the swim up bar that is under construction. The kids pool is on the back end of the property and can only be accessed through the kids club. This has a pirate ship with slides and a giant slide out of a castle. My daughter loved this. Fair warning: this pool was super chlorinated so make sure your kids wear goggles if they plan on opening eyes under water (it was less than 3 feet deep). We never made it to the adult pool but the set up looked nice with multiple spas and a well stocked bar. - The kids area was well-staffed and a great place to leave our kids for an adults-only dinner. The area has a locked door with window so the staff can identify before opening the door. There is a playground set and turf carpet so kids can run around and burn off energy when they aren't making crafts. At dinner time, they will take the kids up to the buffet to eat. - There are plenty of activities here. There is a schedule of activities both for the pool/beach area and the kids area. There is also a mini golf course and they had just opened up a zip line on our last day. There was a pottery area where you could purchase pottery to paint. Great way for kids to kill an hour during a hot day. When we came back the next day to pick up, the potter had touched up the kid's pottery and fired it in the kiln. It looked amazing and was well worth the $15 each. - As far as all-inclusive goes, the food was good 'for the price'. Only one night were we underwhelmed with our dinner (see below). The buffet was open from 6:30 to late and had an international feel. We tended to stick with the Mexican options. There was a snack bar by the main pool and at the back of the resort by the game room and kids pool. Surprisingly the main snack that the people loved was chicken wings and cheese fries. The wings were small but tasty, just got more to satisfy. The cheese sauce is not the spicy nacho style associated with 'American Mexican'. It was straight cheese (no flavor added) and was runny but thickened after a few minutes. - There was a bar by the main pool and they would even pour drinks into your Yeti-style cups. Drink servers were walking through the pool area taking drink orders. Top shelf liquor was available but was not part of the all-inclusive. There was a separate bar on the beach level. As mentioned the adult pool on the front end of the resort also had a full bar. - You are given towel cards (standard for resorts like this). After a snafu the first day about towels not being available due to laundry, it was easy to exchange for new towels. We exchanged 1-2 times a day as needed. - We stayed in one of the family suites and the room design is perfect for a family of four. The kids had bunk beds with a TV separated from the main part of the room by a wall. There was plenty of closet space and a safe. The fridge could stack several bottles of water and other drinks. - You get two bottles of water in the mini fridge but additional bottles were roughly $.50 USD, which was a steal. Only issue was the guy who dropped off the waters asked for the cash then and we only had larger bills. Not sure why this wasn't a room charge. Cons (Keep in mind these are my observations and while they are cons, they did not take away from the overall experience) - The rooms had little to no cool AC. Do not expect less than 72F in the room at night. I slept without a sheet the whole time. Only time it was uncomfortable was after a hot shower and sitting in room waiting for others to get ready. I was sweating profusely. - The bed is not comfortable. Very little give. I used pillows to sleep on my side and despite shifting several times at night I did wake up rested. Just know it will be pillow-topped mattresses. - The game room was severely out of date. Full disclosure, my kids LOVED the game room, which is why i could not stand going back to it. The XBox Room was fun and had three TVs with XBox to check out games (FIFA, Avengers, etc). But the foosball, air hockey, ping pong, and pool tables were all out of date. Some more than others with the air hockey table being the worse. It may cost the resort $2,500 to replace these all but it would be money well spent. - There only four elevators for the entire resort. And one was out of order the whole time we were there. Spent many times waiting for an elevator only to see the 'FULL' button light up before it reached our floor. We took the stairs from the second floor but keep in mind based on the design, 2nd floor meant 6 flights of stairs. - None of the restaurants were open for lunch, meaning your only options for breakfast and lunch were the buffet and the snack bars. There was a NY Deli, not sure why this was not open. - While the poolside activities were fun, we only went to the evening activity once and it was not good. The theater hosts a nightly performance and the night we went was a Michael Jackson performance. The 'Michael Jackson' was obviously the least talented of the dancers on the stage, he looked like MJ after two weeks of all-inclusive buffets, and he kept adjusting his face mic as if he were actually singing. And the performance itself was projecting YouTube videos of MJ concert songs and the MJ 'singing' to it with background dancers. My biggest regret of this trip is this was my kids' first exposure to Michael Jackson. If that was my biggest regret, I can live with it. Food We didn't eat at all of the restaurants but here is a review of what we did eat. - Magnus buffet: You will spend alot of time here as it is only option for breakfast (other than room service) and lunch (only than snack bar). The Mexican selections were tasty, I couldn't get enough of the chiliquiles.. I had omelettes for breakfast and they were tasty. There were Japanese and American staples as well as Mediterranean and Caribbean options. Nice drink options as well. Try the Jamaican water (hibiscus tea), very refreshing. - Creperie: This opens at 4 and was open until 10:30, near the lobby. Delicious crepes, churros & donuts. We ate here in lieu of underwhelming dessert options at a couple of the restaurants. - Le Maison de Michelle: The French restaurant was adults only but we left the kids at the kids area. The service was great, they offered champagne as we walked in. Food was delicious for all-inclusive fare. A relaxing enjoyable dinner, no reservations were needed. - Samurai: The Japanese restaurant served teppanyaki style food as well as chow mein for the kids. We ordered more than usual to try different things and they were accommodating. The apps were delicious. - Big Ben: The only this British about this restaurant is the decor. It is a steak house. They served all different cuts plus chicken and salads. I got the NY Strip and wife got ribeye. As other reviewers have said, order the temperature below your normal order. My medium steak wasn't hot pink, and wife said they looked like they were cooked on an oven top. The food was not bad, but by no means should you expect Outback/Longhorn quality steak. - Portofino: This was an Italian/Seafood buffet. There were several pastas, and several fish. I have a thing about eating fish off a buffet (find it tough) so i avoided that but there was a good selection of pastas to try. The desserts were lacking so we hit up the creperie after. - El Maguey: Shouldn't be a shock the Mexican restaurant was by far the best one at the resort. It is authentic and delicious. I had chicken mole and wife had a pork burrito. The deserts were best on the resort as well (flan and chocolate tamale). If you are looking for fancy dining and wonderful amenities, this may not be the place for you. For what we spent, we couldn't have asked for a better time for our kids. They had fun and it was a great family vacation.

Foi sistema all inclusive. Recomendo!!
